The tools behind your event
Tell the story behind the item
Use photos, descriptions and supported YouTube links to connect a listing to your cause.
Bring the room into the appeal
Run live lots and fund-a-need contributions, with optional goals and accepted-bid displays.
Know what is actually collected
Keep pledges distinct from paid funds. Follow purchase, refund and pickup records through reconciliation.
Try your event demo without sign-in or real money
Your event, step by step
Choose silent, live or hybrid when you create the auction. Hybrid is the format for silent bidding followed by a live session.
Define the cause and seller
Confirm the benefiting organization, who operates the seller account and how proceeds will be reconciled. Agree on approved fundraising language.
Separate lots from fund-a-need
Use ordinary listings for item auctions and fundraising listings for contributions. Explain what each contribution supports and whether any restrictions apply.
Run a clear appeal
Brief the host, clerk and volunteers on the schedule and how online and floor entries work. Explain payment expectations to guests before asking them to participate.
Reconcile captured funds
A bid or pledge is not the same as captured funds. Follow paid, pending and cash-due records, then reconcile with Stripe and your organization’s finance process.

Questions for your event
Does a fundraising total mean every contribution is paid?
No. Bids, pledges and recorded floor contributions can have different payment states. Use purchase payment status and Stripe reconciliation to establish what has actually been collected.
Does OutbidX automatically issue charitable tax receipts?
No. Purchase receipts describe the transaction. Your organization determines charitable receipt eligibility and handles any required charitable documentation.
Can an event combine auction items and fund-a-need?
Yes, the platform has ordinary and fundraising item types. Give guests a clear explanation of each and brief your event team on recording and reconciling them.
