Refunds and cancellations

Know who handles the request and what a confirmed result looks like.

Last updated: October 12, 2026.

Stripe TEST mode. Current charges and refunds simulate payments. They do not move real money. A future real-money event needs a separately activated live deployment and verified seller setup.

Before committing

Read the seller’s item description, condition, restrictions, pickup/shipping terms and return/cancellation conditions before bidding or using Buy Now. The seller handles the goods or service. Applicable consumer rights still apply; an event’s “final sale” wording cannot remove rights that the law does not allow it to remove.

An accepted bid is a commitment under the disclosed item/event conditions. Mistakes do not have an automatic self-service cancellation. Contact the organizer promptly with the item, approximate time and accepted amount. A contribution lot can create a separate purchase for each accepted contribution, rather than one highest-bidder award.

A card hold is different from a charge

A temporary authorization reserves available card funds; it is not a paid receipt. Its release depends on the authorization state and your issuer. Cancelling a hold does not refund an already captured payment. If a purchase shows pending or needs authentication, follow its payment instructions and verify the final state before retrying or collecting the item.

Requesting a refund or reporting a problem

  1. Contact the named organizer about missing, misdescribed or unavailable goods, voucher restrictions or event fulfillment.
  2. Provide the auction/item and purchase reference, date and a short explanation. Keep the listing, receipt and correspondence. Do not email a full card number, password or sign-in link.
  3. For platform, account, duplicate-payment or record problems, use Contact support or support@outbidx.com. We can investigate records; we do not guarantee the seller will approve every discretionary request.
  4. Check the recorded result. A refund promise or submitted request is not a completed refund. Processing and bank-posting time vary; no fixed arrival date is guaranteed.

Card refunds are handled through the original payment flow when supported. Cash refunds are arranged with the organizer and do not occur through Stripe. A card dispute is a separate issuer process, and your lawful right to use it is not waived. Avoid assuming that a payment under dispute is safe to collect.

Refund totals, platform-fee reversals and processing-fee treatment can differ; no blanket promise is made that all fees are returned. An organizer must reconcile the actual provider outcome and any required tax credit note. Partial refunds do not automatically recalculate a charitable receipt or issue an updated official tax document.

Cancelled events, lots and missed pickup

The organizer must notify affected participants, explain the reason and deal with accepted commitments and collected payments under event conditions and applicable law. Cancelling or archiving an auction screen is not itself a confirmed refund. Keep clear records for unpaid holds, captured cards and in-person cash.

If you cannot attend pickup, contact the organizer about an alternative arrangement. Missed collection does not automatically mean legal refund rights disappear. Do not hand over goods on an unverified screenshot or promise of payment.

Subscriptions are separate from auction purchases

To change or cancel Pro/Elite, open Billing and choose “Manage subscription, payments and invoices.” Confirm the outcome and effective date in the billing records. A scheduled period-end cancellation does not automatically refund prior invoices. Deleting an auction, signing out or uninstalling the PWA does not cancel a subscription.

Contact support about duplicate billing, an incorrect invoice or a refund request. We review the actual subscription/provider records, the offer you accepted and applicable law. We do not advertise an automatic pro-rated refund, cooling-off period or money-back guarantee that has not been established.

Organizer checklist

  • Disclose the seller, condition, restrictions, return conditions and collection/delivery arrangements before bidding.
  • Use confirmed payment and refund outcomes, including any application-fee reversal, rather than assuming a record change transfers funds.
  • Keep buyer communications, cash-refund records and required sales-tax adjustments.
  • Resolve pickup status before releasing goods; stop collection where payment is pending, refunded or disputed.
  • Refer official charitable documents to the qualified issuer. See Taxes and donation receipts.
